Sylvia Salma Otieno

I am a dedicated and compassionate counsellor with a strong background in psychology, specializing in grief and loss counselling. My education at Africa Nazarene University has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of various psychological theories and practices, enabling me to effectively support individuals facing emotional challenges. During my internship, I had the opportunity to inspire high school students, helping them navigate their academic pressures and transition into university life.

In my recent role at Chiromo Funeral Parlour, I developed a unique counselling program that addressed the emotional needs of bereaved families. This initiative not only provided essential support during a difficult time but also highlighted the importance of integrating psychological care into funeral services. My training in trauma and crisis counselling, along with my ability to communicate empathetically, has allowed me to make a positive impact on the lives of my clients.
