I’m a Small Business Underwriter at Arvest Bank, where I review and evaluate small business loan transaction requests in line with federal and state laws and regulations. I work within Small Business Administration (SBA) products and guidelines, analyzing income statements, balance sheets, loan structure, collateral, cash flow, and debt serviceability. I also use credit scoring software and credit reports to support underwriting and approvals with clear, timely decision requests within established SLAs.

Beyond day-to-day underwriting, I take pride in reducing risk through thorough verification and careful calculations. I review income and employment verification, including complex federal tax returns and trust agreements, and I calculate underwriting ratios such as loan-to-value (LTV), debt-to-income (DTI), and payment-to-income (PTI). I identify additional information needs, consider alternative credit structures, and escalate declined requests and exceptions to policy when required.

Before underwriting, I built a strong foundation through small business loan processing and leadership roles, including post-closing review to ensure loans matched approved credit memos and SBA authorization documents. I’ve led teams to complete the highest percentage of accurate loans, coached associates, and managed branch operations with a customer-first mindset. I bring that same discipline—compliance, accuracy, and accountability—into every lending decision I make.
