Ssemakula Chapman

I’m a final year mechanical engineering student with training in systems maintenance and IT. I bring hands-on experience in equipment monitoring, reporting, and database-driven maintenance systems to help teams improve operational efficiency.

As a Mechanical engineering trainee at Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (June 2025 - August 2025), I participated in project progress monitoring, documented findings, and recommended corrective actions to meet deadlines. I also assisted in the assembly, installation, and maintenance of extraction system components while strictly adhering to health, safety and environmental procedures, and I helped plan and schedule maintenance tasks to optimise equipment uptime.

At Classic Africa Safari (June 2024 - August 2024), I conducted routine inspections and troubleshooting to identify mechanical faults and recommend repairs. I coordinated with team members to plan workflow and manage resources, conducted safety audits to ensure adherence to occupational health and safety guidelines, and recorded daily activities while generating reports and tracking progress accurately.

Through my projects, I developed and tested a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to address manual record inefficiencies and poor asset traceability. I contributed to system architecture, database structuring, and testing—automating maintenance workflows, integrating equipment data, and generating performance reports—while staying focused on reliability, compliance, and user accessibility.
