I operate ship-to-shore cranes at Transnet DCT Pier 1, supporting the safe loading and discharge of containers and deep-sea feeder vessels.
I conduct pre- and post-inspections of STS cranes, report abnormalities to supervisors, and perform first-line maintenance when needed. I also maintain continuous operations through hot-seat changeovers.
At Transnet DCT, I monitored and operated reefers, assisted cargo control, handled containers and wagon twist locks, and completed operational documentation. My work included cargo data accuracy, housekeeping, and selecting correct cargo-handling equipment.
Previously, I worked as a Service Driver for Transnet Freight Rail, transporting employees, monitoring vehicle performance, reporting defects, and maintaining safe working conditions.
