Simona Nica

I currently support pupils at Stewarton Academy as a Support for Learning Assistant, providing classroom, one-to-one and group support shaped around individual needs. I help pupils engage with learning while prioritising their wellbeing, safety, dignity and independence.

Across roles with East Ayrshire Council, including at Barony Campus, Hillside School and St Joseph’s Academy, I’ve supported children with physical, emotional and additional support needs. I provide reading, writing and scribing support, assist with classroom activities, and create safe, inclusive learning environments alongside teaching staff.

At Kilwinning Academy, I provided school administration support using SEEMiS and other digital systems. I handled enquiries, calls, emails, timetables and learning materials professionally while communicating with pupils, parents, teachers and colleagues.

I’m completing an Open University honours degree focused on young children, childhood and wellbeing. I’m particularly motivated by children’s wellbeing, inclusion and advocacy, and by work that puts people’s voices, needs and experiences at the centre of decisions.
