Shruthi Shiv

I’m an enthusiastic Library and Information Science professional focused on academic library management and research support. I bring hands-on experience in institutional repository management, library automation, and user services that help scholars get reliable resources faster.

In my role at Bangalore University Library, I worked as an Apprentices/Trainee, strengthening my foundation in library operations and academic services. I’m currently serving as an Assistant Librarian at Acharya Institute of Graduate Studies, where I continue to support academic and research activities day-to-day.

My core strengths include institutional repository management using DSpace, digital archiving and preservation, and metadata creation and management with Dublin Core. I also handle cataloguing and classification using MARC21, AACR2, UDC, and DDC, and manage digital libraries and e-resources.

I support research through current awareness services (CAS) and selective dissemination of information (SDA), along with plagiarism check services to users (Turnitin, Drillbit). I’ve also been recognized with the “Dr. S. R. Ranganathan Memorial Gold Medal” for highest marks in my Master of Library and Information Science examination, and my dissertation explored the “Use of INFLIBNET E-Resources by research scholars in Karnatak University, Dharwad.”
