Shpëtim Latifi

I’m a Lead Software Engineer with 6 years of OpenResearch experience building backend and full-stack systems using Java, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Angular, PostgreSQL, and cloud-native tooling. I lead development across multiple backend and full-stack projects, working across fintech integrations, public-sector software, and data consent workflows.

In my current role (02/2023 - Present), I’ve built a vehicle data consent platform enabling external clients, and I’ve led support car health and safety prediction workflows and delivery across client-facing projects. I also developed software for the Municipality of Vienna, including cemetery record management, scheduling workflows, and calendar event features.

Previously, as a Backend Software Engineer (10/2021 - 02/2023), I designed backend APIs and database schema for a multi-platform chat application integrated into existing platforms. I developed features across mobile, frontend, and backend systems with PostgreSQL, reviewed pull requests to improve quality and maintainability, and collaborated directly with the CTO on planning new product features.

Earlier (04/2018 - 11/2021), I worked as a Software Engineer / Backend Developer, delivering client engagements and internal projects. I contributed to fintech integrations and deployed backend microservices to AWS using EKS/ECR and Kubernetes for orchestration and scaling, and I built REST APIs for a restaurant reservation and pricing management platform under tight deadlines.
