Shae Mitchell

I’m an aspiring Licensed Practical Nurse (Licensure Pending) with hands-on CNA experience supporting patients in both long-term and acute-style care environments. I’m currently completing an LPN program with classroom theory and clinical experience designed to help me deliver competent, safe nursing care within scope.

From my clinical training, I’ve developed practical skills that include medication administration, G-tube and pump feeds (feeds and flushes), catheter insertion and care, colostomy care, wet and dry dressing changes, wound care, skin treatments, suctioning, trach care, and blood glucose monitoring. I combine critical thinking and problem-solving with careful attention to patient needs to promote safety and quality outcomes.

In my private home care work, I assist with dressing, grooming, feeding, and mobility to promote independence, comfort, and adaptation. I monitor and document changes in patient health status and communicate observations to nursing staff, while maintaining a clean, safe, organized environment and providing compassionate daily support.

At Elderwood Hamburg, I supported patient stability by measuring vital signs, weight, and intake/output and accurately documenting findings in patient records. I also helped minimize infection risks through cleaning and sterilizing equipment, and I provided compassionate, culturally sensitive care—strengthening my communication and teamwork in fast-paced healthcare settings.
