I use data and AI to reveal human behavior and guide decisions.
What I'm looking for
I've used Google data, AI, and economic research to uncover hidden human behavior and help organizations make better decisions. My work spans consulting, bestselling books, public writing, and keynote speaking.
At USAFacts, I write long-form analysis on AI's effects on electricity prices and lead workshops and analyst teams. Through my consulting practice, I've supported clients including East Rock Capital, TCI, Tetra Pak, Citadel, Oracle, and GSK on market research, advertising, people analytics, investing, forecasting, public relations, and social media strategy.
I authored Everybody Lies, a New York Times bestseller and Economist Book of the Year, along with Don't Trust Your Gut and Who Makes the NBA. I've also written a recurring New York Times column using novel data, taught an MBA course at Wharton, and delivered keynotes and corporate trainings for organizations including Google, Nike, Lazard, and Booz Allen Hamilton.
Earlier, I built tools at Google with Hal Varian to measure advertising effectiveness and economic trends, and published research in the Journal of Public Economics and Quantitative Marketing and Economics. I hold a Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard, where my thesis was “Essays Using Google Data.”
