Sarah Cordell

At UT Health Science Center, I coordinate pre-operative through post-operative care for complex neurosurgical patients, providing remote clinical assessment, triage, education, and care planning.

I work across patients, families, physicians, pharmacies, benefit coordinators, and specialty teams to resolve authorization, scheduling, medication-access, and care-coordination barriers. I also manage high-volume phone, email, and EMR communications, document care in Epic, and serve as an Epic Super User supporting staff through EMR updates.

Previously, at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, I provided direct neurosurgical nursing care, evaluated post-operative complications, triaged calls and electronic messages, and developed medication authorization and patient-tracking processes to prevent delays. My work has also included discharge planning, chart audits, clinical documentation improvement, and support for patients with brain, spinal cord, and neurological conditions.

I'm committed to compassionate, timely care and have contributed to published neurosurgical research on intracranial aneurysm treatment and outcomes.
