Sam Russel
@samrussel
I’m a data analyst turning ambiguous problems into trusted production insights.
What I'm looking for
I’m a data analyst with five years of experience taking ambiguous, high-ownership data problems from zero to production. I’m comfortable building analytical infrastructure from scratch, translating messy or fragmented data into reliable outputs stakeholders trust, and expanding scope as a project grows.
At Ally Financial, I co-led the design and build of an AI-powered natural language querying tool on Snowflake, owning the technical direction alongside a partner. I worked through significant ambiguity to generate accurate, reliable SQL against a specific data model, iterating on prompt design and query logic until the tool could be trusted with real business questions. I also took ownership of onboarding and adoption across data operations teams, running office hours and training so non-technical colleagues could rely on the workflow independently.
