Sachin Darade

I’m a backend engineer with ~5 years of experience, currently working at PhonePe — one of India’s largest fintech platforms with 500M+ users and industry-leading transaction volumes. I’ve owned and scaled core backend systems handling 8,000–50,000+ RPS with low-latency guarantees and high availability.

I led the backend development for PhonePe App Search, a flagship feature in PhonePe 3.0, built from scratch with advanced caching strategies, event-driven invalidation, and JVM-level tuning. I’m also the primary owner of Chimera, PhonePe’s personalization engine, where I drove infra-level optimizations — reducing Aerospike P99 latencies by 5x and CPU usage by 28%.

On the financial security side, I designed a secure, reusable PAN verification flow adopted across the PhonePe org, handling 40K+ daily requests while cutting fraudulent attempts by 15%.

I bring strong backend depth in Java, Spring Boot, Aerospike, JVM tuning, and scalable systems design. I work closely with architects, security, and app teams to build fault-tolerant APIs, robust infra, and contract-first integrations.

Prior to this, I built backend microservices at Deutsche Bank and hold a CS degree from BITS Pilani Goa. I’ve been a Top 100 INMO (Pre-IMO) awardee, led my team to a Top 15 finish in an internal CTF, and am now seeking challenging roles at top companies with strong culture and meaningful technical ownership.
