Rodrigo Hernández Sesma

At LaiaXR (Arsoft), I improved a CT liver-vessel segmentation model using nnU-Net, raising its pseudo-Dice score from 0.60 to 0.82 through dataset fusion and label refinement. The model was deployed in the company's software.

I also designed and documented a clinical statistics module based on 3D segmentations, restructuring a monolithic file into a sub-package organized by specialty. In this regulated medical-device environment, I applied change control through snapshot testing and Markdown documentation.

At LaiaXR (Arsoft), I contributed to an LLM-based surgeon-support chatbot by defining safety constraints and behavioral instructions. I also took part in a European EIC project supporting surgical decision-making in lung cancer.

Alongside my biomedical engineering studies, I work on engineering and software development projects at Rodalba Ingeniería. My work has included remote diagnostics for an AVT PrintVision/Apollo system, industrial equipment fault diagnosis, and developing an email-based quotation automation project and the company's corporate website.
