At Yunnan University of Finance and Economics, I studied cooperation through theoretical and experimental game theory, including simulations of social dilemmas. My research examined how culture and social norms shape cooperation and how collectivist values can help address climate change.
At the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Kunming Institute of Zoology, I continued experiments on cooperation and game theory with Chinese participants. My earlier PhD research with CNRS examined cooperation and economic behaviour in wild vervet monkeys.
I have received more than 20 grants for research projects in Europe, Africa and China. My work has also included teaching biology, advising technology start-ups on science and sustainability, and investigating how human culture affects long-term investment.
