@rahulbahal
I build device and network software for UXI sensors, IPsec, and high-performance networking platforms.
What I'm looking for
I'm building device software for Aruba’s UXI sensor group. Previously at Arista Networks, I designed Priority Flow Control for Jericho2 hardware and developed IPsec support on Broadcom chips, including Linux kernel networking driver support between the control and data planes.
I've also tested TCP/IP networking in Akamai’s kernel group, automated release management with containerized Kubernetes scripts, and built cloud and systems projects using AWS, EC2, IPsec, and StrongSwan. I enjoy tackling technically difficult problems across the full product-development lifecycle while continuing to learn through projects.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
Working on the UXI sensor as a member of the Device Software Engineering group.
• Worked on the design and architecture to implement PFC on the next generation hardware platform.
• Developed multiple features for IPsec project in order to support IPsec connections using Broadcom chips.
• Prototyped the initial approach which was useful in determining the challenges, key areas and course of action for implementing the IPsec project.
• Implemented the linux kernel networking d
• Graded assignments for undergraduate and graduate level students.
• Provided focussed constructive feedback to the students.
Intern: Systems Software Engineer in Platform Infrastructure (Kernel Group)
Jun 2015 - Aug 2015 (2 months)
• Developed Packetdrill scripts to test the TCP Network stack and in-house functionalities on Akamai kernel.
• Prototyped and compared applications developed using Django and Flask web frameworks to be used for internal team project
• Developed automation scripts for testing a responsive design application with multiple programs to reduce the manual effort.
• Implemented custom framework and test suite in Java using JUnit4 and Selenium WebDriver-RC.
• Measured and analyzed performance results for different architectures used for a critical component in the application.
