Pedro Miguel Costa

I’m a journalist, producer and editorial professional based in Lisbon, with 34 years of experience in radio, television and audiovisual storytelling, including 17 years at SIC and 10 at TSF.

My work has taken me from daily newsrooms to international assignments in Afghanistan, Iraq, Timor-Leste and Ukraine. These experiences taught me how to find reliable information, ask the right questions and turn complex subjects into clear stories, often under demanding deadlines. They also developed my ability to coordinate production, work with different teams and make sound editorial decisions under pressure.

At Conta Lá, I coordinated editorial planning and production workflows and created an original factual series exploring the people and processes behind Portuguese products. I developed the concept, researched the stories, conducted interviews and presented the episodes. I have since adapted the format for editorial branded content, bringing factual rigour and documentary storytelling to stories about companies and their people.

My work has been recognised with the AMI Journalism Against Indifference Award and the Medal of the Order of Timor-Leste. I’m also a certified trainer, with 285 hours of teaching experience in radio journalism, television reporting and conflict coverage.

I’m now interested in remote opportunities in content strategy, editorial leadership, communications, creative production and branded content. I particularly enjoy interviewing people, discovering overlooked stories, developing original formats and helping organisations explain complex subjects through credible, engaging content.

I have completed training in AI applied to marketing and communication, and I’m interested in using these tools to support research, development and production while maintaining accuracy and editorial judgement.

I bring experience across the full content process, from the initial idea and research to interviews, scripts, production coordination and final delivery. I work in Portuguese and English and am available for remote collaboration across European time zones, with overlap with the US East Coast.
