Payton Childress
@paytonchildress
Research scientist specializing in battery materials and small-molecule synthesis with multidisciplinary experimental expertise.
What I'm looking for
I am an adaptable research scientist with hands-on experience in battery technology and medicinal chemistry, focused on structure–property relationships, electrochemical materials, and multi-step small-molecule synthesis. I have driven lab-scale process optimization, developed Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) testing workflows, and improved material properties such as nickel hydroxide tap density while stabilizing structure during continuous-flow synthesis.
I have synthesized and characterized 100+ small-molecule derivatives, achieved >95% accuracy in structural verification by NMR and mass spectrometry, and routinely achieved ≥95% purity through purification techniques. I bring strong experimental design, statistical analysis, data management, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills, and I am motivated to apply these capabilities to advance materials or drug-discovery programs in team-oriented research environments.
