Pauline Turyagyenda

I’m a community volunteer with the Uganda Redcross Society, supporting refugee and clinic communication through interpretation between mobile clinic staff and non-English speaking clients. I deliver health education on hygiene, disease prevention, nutrition, and the importance of vaccinations, while also setting up and dismantling mobile clinic logistics and guiding clients through each step. I mobilize communities for outreaches, support clients with special needs, and compile weekly and monthly morbidity reports to ensure follow-through.

Before this, I served as a Census Enumeration supervisor at the Uganda Bureau Of Statistics, where I monitored data collection progress by supervising enumerators using specialized software on digital devices. I handled data quality control by editing and validating captured data, managed census logistics by distributing and retrieving materials (including electronic tablets), and mobilized communities by engaging local leaders. I also solved field issues—supporting difficult interviews and boundary disputes—while submitting field progress reports and recommending enumerators for payment.

Earlier, as a Host community department internee at GiveDirectly Uganda, I organized barazas to introduce the program and mapped village boundaries with local leaders. I led door-to-door household surveys, verified eligibility, enrolled recipients, and delivered digital literacy training for mobile money, PIN setup, and safe cash transfer navigation. I strengthened risk & safeguarding by identifying and reporting adverse events, maintained data integrity by uploading information to platforms like Salesforce or TaroWorks, and built practical experience in documentation, research, report writing, and record keeping alongside my background in Economics and Statistics.
