Fully remote senior backend or platform engineering roles. Comfortable overlapping with US or European hours; open to contractor or EOR arrangements.

Senior backend engineer: Go and Python on AWS. Third-party integrations that survive upstream failure, observability, and safe releases.
What I'm looking for
I build backend systems and platform tooling in Go and Python on AWS. The interesting problem is usually someone else's API failing at 3am and your system needing to not care.
Currently at a stealth startup, I build asynchronous request processing for a production API gateway: bounded worker pools, idempotency, load shedding, dead-letter replay after restart, and latency and queue-depth alerting. I also rebuilt a Python worker service's job execution on Redis Streams consumer groups, with crash recovery and bounded retries.
Before that, at Bureau, I owned the telecom identity-provider integration layer in the core Go API. I built three provider adapters from scratch and became primary author of a fourth. I also raised document classification completion from 10% to 99.5%, moved logging onto the ELK stack (saving $5K a year), and built a Python ML inference platform that cut model deployment from a week to an hour.
I pair implementation with design notes, runbooks, failure-mode tests and migration plans, so other engineers can change and run the system safely.
Most of my roles have been remote. Open to senior backend and platform engineering roles.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
- Sole author of the asynchronous request-processing layer behind a production Go API gateway, including bounded worker pool, idempotent submission, stale-work recovery, and graduated load shedding.
- Built asynchronous persistence workers and improved release reliability through deployment gates and health checks.
- Owned most of the development of a unified Python ML inference platform, centralising model management and cutting new model deployment from one week to one hour.
- Built a Go scoring and rules service, ELK stack observability, and re-architected a document classification service raising successful completion from 10% to 99.5%.
- Owned the telecom identity provider integration layer behind Bureau's OneTapLogin backend, creating three provider adapters from scratch and becoming primary author of a fourth.
- Built fault tolerant supplier integrations handling 250K requests per day, and built shared Prometheus instrumentation for the OTP exchange flow in the core Go API.
Built ETL pipelines moving transaction data from SAP HANA into internal analytics systems with Python and SQL, sustaining throughput of 500K+ transactions daily and backfilling 2 TB of historical records.
