What I'm looking for

I'm seeking research and engineering opportunities in additive manufacturing, laser-based processing, materials characterization, and data-driven materials optimization, where I can contribute to experimental work and develop advanced materials research expertise.

I'm pursuing an MSc in Mechanical Engineering at Nelson Mandela University, developing laser-based heat-treatment strategies for Laser Metal Deposition layers of 17-4PH stainless steel. My work examines microstructural evolution, hardness response, and process windows for restoring material properties.

My research has produced peer-reviewed publications, including a systematic review on laser-based heat treatment for LMD 17-4PH. I also contributed to research on AI for tidal-power energy efficiency and biodegradation of low-density polyethylene.

I graduated with First Class Honours in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering and completed undergraduate research on aluminium powder-reinforced HDPE composites. I bring practical experience in polymer processing, quality inspection, laboratory support, data handling, and technical documentation.
