I’ve spent 10+ years designing and implementing data models inside financial services—building dimensional and normalised structures, engineering data marts, and mapping complex source-to-target transformations.
Most recently at PBT Group (Momentum Insure), I’ve worked with the Data Warehouse Manager and Data Architect to shape a target data platform strategy, run workshops with source system SMEs, and engineer a Gold layer dimensional model for Claims KPI reporting.
Earlier, I helped Old Mutual Bank’s Risk Data Squad by creating a reusable 3NF risk data layer across Credit Risk, Fraud, Treasury, and Finance—using SQL in Amazon Athena for validation and working with BI Analysts on source-to-target mappings. Before that, I supported application and project data marts at Clickatell, built Star Schema data marts at SARB, and maintained and migrated enterprise models while decommissioning legacy Oracle warehousing at WesBank and ABSA.
