Nicolas Zahlut

I started in graphic design in Buenos Aires in 2009, working across packaging, magazines, branding and web, including a stint as art director and copywriter at a magazine. That print and brand foundation still shapes how I approach video: I care about composition, typography and consistency as much as pacing.

From 2016 to 2021 I worked at Cravero Lanis, an advertising agency, where I founded and led the in-house editing and animation department. I produced commercial mockups, digital assets and TV spots, coordinated projects between clients and creative teams, and handled print production on the side.

After moving to Canada, I worked as a senior video editor at Ad Pros (2021 to 2022), creating ads for Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, and mentoring junior editors. From 2023 to 2025 I was a senior video editor, producer and motion graphics designer at Kitco Media. There I produced two to three episodes a day with live switching, with the whole process from shoot to published episode taking under 90 minutes. I also created motion graphics packages, 3D assets and animated intros in Blender, and designed visuals for online events. I still freelance with Kitco on animation and remote editing support.

My toolkit is Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Blender, plus tools like Descript, ClickUp and Monday for team workflows.

What interests me most is fast-paced production where design and video meet, and brand work in particular: modernizing identities that feel stuck in the past while keeping them clean and appropriate for their industry. Longer term, I’d like to work somewhere that values creative ownership, or eventually run a small studio doing branding, motion and video for products I believe in.
