Nick McGuffin

I’m a full-stack software engineer with 4 years building and shipping production web software with TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and Python. I enjoy owning features end to end, turning complex requirements into reliable, maintainable software.

At Boeing Defence Australia, I designed and built a responsive React and TypeScript single-page application delivering real-time monitoring, control, and data visualisation for complex networking systems. I also developed Python backend services integrating with external systems over serial, REST, and WebSockets, streaming live data to the front end through a shared datastore.

I’ve helped re-architect a single-product system into a modular, plugin-based platform now supporting multiple products on shared infrastructure, with capacity to onboard more. I built internal tooling for network modelling and analysis, and I maintain delivery quality with unit, integration, and DOM testing, CI/CD pipelines, and daily code reviews in a high-compliance, security-critical environment—while mentoring junior engineers, graduates, and interns each cycle.
