Ndeweni Tonny

I’m a backend-focused software engineer passionate about building secure, scalable systems and automating repetitive workflows. Right now, I’m spearheading development of Instipass, an AI-powered student ID platform, where I turn institutional requirements into dependable technical solutions.

At Instipass (2025–present), I architect secure backend systems with Django and Django REST Framework, including streamlined student ID registration and institutional management. I design scalable database schemas and ERDs, implement authentication and authorization using OAuth, JWT, and RBAC, and optimize performance by refining database queries and asset management.

I also build user-facing institutional dashboards with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and Next.js, while integrating third-party APIs to extend functionality and improve workflow efficiency. Security and production readiness are built into my process—I deploy backend services with Nginx and design architectures that stay extensible and multi-institution scalable.

Alongside backend engineering, I’m an automation engineer developing browser automation systems with Playwright and Selenium, plus scraping pipelines with BeautifulSoup4. I’ve also completed an ALX data science trainee program (Python, pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, matplotlib) and a cybersecurity capstone where I practice exploitation and vulnerability analysis to strengthen defensive backend API security.
