Milos Vlainic

I’m a senior ML/AI consultant specializing in R&D, optimization, and recommendation systems. I bring a PhD in applied physics and 15+ years in data analysis, with 11 years using Python for scientific computing and modeling.

In recent work as a Senior Data Scientist / AI Researcher, I prototype combinatorial and simulation-based optimization for supply/value chains and cutting patterns. I delivered 6 PoCs for different clients, combining technical client communication with actionable, prototype-first development.

My focus also includes Reinforcement learning with business-relevant environment design and building agent systems that automate data analysis. Along the way, I’ve worked across classification, hybrid recommendation approaches (content-, collaborative-, knowledge-based), and probabilistic ranking models.

Earlier consulting and academic research strengthened my exploratory analysis and algorithm development workflow. I enjoy translating complex problems into clear next steps, using modern ML tooling from scikit-learn and PyTorch to optimization libraries and cloud-based experimentation.

My key differentiator is bridging technical and business sides - I regularly led client-facing problem discovery sessions, translating vague operational challenges into formal mathematical models, and communicating results and limitations in plain language to non-technical stakeholders.
