At BIOENG, UCIBIO-REQUIMTE, NOVA School of Science and Technology, I researched mixed purple phototrophic bacteria for PET upcycling, from synthetic to real application. My work also examined producing PHA and volatile fatty acids from food-industry by-products.

I have hands-on experience with bioreactor operation, fermentation, and process monitoring. I’ve used analytical techniques including HPLC, GC, TOC, and fluorescence spectroscopy, and presented research at international conferences.
