At Careem, I build backend capabilities across Rides, Food, Shops, Identity, Martech, and Benefits. My work has improved conversion by 16%, increased average order value by 73%, and reduced P99 latency from 500ms to 40ms on critical paths.

I delivered wallet and benefits integration for 150K+ B2B members, helping benefit application rates rise from 2% to 79.5% on Rides and from 13.3% to 76.3% on Food. I also built Go/Gin services for Braze content and marketing campaigns, personalized Food reactivation emails, and helped launch Careem Plus upsell flows that increased trial subscriptions by 13%.

I enjoy solving platform-scale problems, from Kafka event design and production observability to load testing, database performance, and cross-domain integrations. For Careem Shops, I led backend work for the Spinneys Picker App launch and introduced weight-based picking with barcode decoding for accurate per-kilogram pricing.

Previously, I modernized legacy payment and utility platforms at i2c and Contour Software, including Spring JDBC-to-Hibernate, Scala 2.11-to-2.13, Ant-to-Maven, and Struts-to-Spring Boot migrations. I work primarily with Golang, Java, Scala, Kotlin, Spring Boot, Kafka, AWS, PostgreSQL, and event-driven microservices.
