Matthew Vizachero
@matthewvizachero
Mechanical design engineering intern at Precise Power Systems who designed manufacturable enclosures for diesel-engine power systems.
What I'm looking for
At Precise Power Systems, I designed custom power-generation enclosures in SOLIDWORKS for 200–600 hp diesel engines, integrating structural supports, piping, electrical connections, and auxiliary systems into manufacturable assemblies.
I also engineered and modified components for customer-specific diesel and natural-gas generators, containerized systems, load banks, and fire-suppression equipment. I created and revised models, assemblies, P&IDs, and manufacturing drawings, and worked with manufacturing personnel to resolve fabrication issues.
With the Michigan Aeronautical Sciences Association at the University of Michigan, I worked on the Black Box and Propellant Flight Tanks projects. I modeled a protective flight-computer enclosure and produced manufacturing documentation, and analyzed welded pressure vessels, validating results within 10% of ANSYS Mechanical FEA.
I also assembled propulsion tanks and conducted hydrostatic pressure testing, and optimized tank designs to remove about 35 lbs of excess material. As Ground Structures Lead, I directed the subteam’s design and fabrication work, machined components, and developed a 20-page Siemens NX training guide.
