Dual-qualified legal counsel delivering pragmatic, cross-border commercial and technology risk advice for global businesses.
What I'm looking for
I’m a dual-qualified legal counsel in Malaysia and England & Wales with 9 years of experience advising on commercial contracts, technology transactions, and cross-border regulatory risk. I’ve supported multinational businesses on high-value, multi-jurisdictional agreements spanning digital and data-related arrangements, sanctions/export control issues, and e-commerce platform engagements. I also bring a strong financial services foundation through experience with structured product documentation and derivatives-related legal work.
In my current role as Associate Counsel (Commercial) at British American Tobacco (DBS HUB Malaysia), I act as a legal partner to global business units across APMEA, AME, Europe and the US. I structure, draft, and negotiate high-value agreements across 40+ countries, advise on technology and operational arrangements involving consumer data privacy considerations, and design contract negotiation playbooks to support faster, more consistent decision-making.
I work closely with Product, Finance, Tax, Compliance, Sales, Supply Chain, Procurement, and senior leadership to identify legal risk and build practical solutions for expansion in regulated, fast-moving markets. Previously at Oracle and HSBC, I drafted and reviewed technology and financial documentation across privacy, data governance, and compliance schedules—strengthening how I combine legal rigor with commercial execution. Today, I also handle global portfolio work for BAT’s New Categories supply chain and drive contract management improvements using iCertis and extensive contract pipeline analysis.
