MARKOS FOURNARAKIS

I’m a marine ecology-focused researcher with hands-on experience in biodiversity monitoring, field sampling, and ecological data analysis through Erasmus+ internships. I’m motivated by turning real-world observations into clear, data-driven insights.

At GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel, I conducted field sampling and biodiversity monitoring, performed microscopic analysis of marine samples, and supported ecological data processing and statistical analysis. I developed a strong foundation in interpreting environmental datasets and research results.

During my Sea Turtle Conservation internship at ARCHELON – The Sea Turtle Protection Society of Greece, I supported nest monitoring and beach patrols, recorded biological and environmental data, and assisted with hatchling protection and public awareness activities. I value careful fieldwork, accurate documentation, and conservation impact.

I’ve also presented my work at Hydromedit 2024 and an international online marine science conference, strengthening my communication and research presentation skills. I bring curiosity, rigor, and a collaborative mindset to every research task.
