Mariam Araqelyan
@mariamaraqelyan
Software Engineer specializing in backend and cloud data pipelines with Python, AWS, and Terraform.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Software Engineer focused on backend development, cloud infrastructure, and data systems, using Python and AWS to build production-ready pipelines. Currently as a Junior Data Engineer at Krisp, I develop and maintain cloud-based ETL workflows and analytics infrastructure.
At BostonGene, I migrated backend services from Flask to FastAPI, removing manual OpenAPI upkeep and cutting cold start time from 15s to 3s. I also built CI/CD pipelines with GitLab CI, packaging and publishing Python packages to a private Nexus Repository using uv, while optimizing a critical build process for 1.5× performance improvement.
I enjoy turning engineering ideas into working products—on my Cheap Cloud Project, I contributed backend services using Python and C++ for compression and encryption, and helped with API design and frontend integration using React.js. I also supported learning as a Teaching Assistant, mentoring students in Python and software engineering fundamentals.
I’m completing my Bachelor’s degree in Informatics and Applied Mathematics with a 3.90 GPA and strong foundations in programming, architecture, probability, and numerical methods. I value maintainable systems, fast iteration through solid CI/CD, and close collaboration with backend and analytics teams to deliver robust solutions.
