Manuel Santiago Martinez Hurtado
@manuelsantiagomartin
Physics Engineer focused on robotics and embedded systems, delivering reliable sensor-integrated control through hands-on troubleshooting.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Physics Engineer from the National University of Colombia, bringing hands-on experience in robotics, embedded systems, sensor integration, and technical troubleshooting. I support multidisciplinary projects from prototype implementation to testing, with a focus on turning complex system behavior into clear, actionable guidance.
My work centers on building dependable robotic control. In my thesis, I developed a 5-degree-of-freedom robotic manipulator controlled with ROS 2, creating embedded firmware and real-time control tasks that integrated actuator feedback and connected the controller to the higher-level robotics stack using microROS/ROS2 messaging.
In my research roles, I’ve developed embedded instrumentation on STM32 and ESP32 for an agricultural rover, implemented sensor/peripheral drivers, and built communication over UART, I2C, and CANopen. I also programmed Physics-Informed Neural Networks in Python with PyTorch, produced reproducible experiments, and presented results to a research group. Alongside that, I’ve worked remotely as an AI Model Trainer, evaluating and improving technical response quality for production readiness.
I’m especially interested in robot fleet reliability, remote diagnostics, and service desk engineering—where strong problem-solving and attention to detail matter every day. I enjoy collaborating across teams by translating technical observations and operational needs into improvements that engineering, operations, and support can execute.
