I build software that construction and engineering teams use every day: web platforms, Revit and IFC tooling, and AI features that remove actual work instead of just demoing well. After 15 years in AEC software I know where the domain gets messy. I’m looking for a team where I can own architecture and technical direction, not just tickets.

@manuelgasteiger
15 years of software for construction and planning: BIM web apps, Revit and IFC tooling, AI features. Co-founder and tech lead for 13 of them.
What I'm looking for
I’ve spent 15 years building software for the construction and planning industry, most of it as a founder and technical lead.
At Build Informed I work on BIM web applications: browser-based tools for working with IFC models, F# plugins for Revit, connectors to Autodesk Platform Services, and AI features built on the Cloudflare stack. Some of that work runs under a formal change-request process for an energy utility, so I’m comfortable in regulated environments where traceability matters more than speed.
Before that I co-founded b.i.m.m GmbH and spent 13 years as its technical lead. I designed and wrote most of the core of sitelife, a construction site management platform that crews still use daily on site, and built the b.i.m.m Tools suite on the Revit API.
I’ve led development teams of up to eight people. My approach is to set a clear architecture and keep feedback loops short, then let people work.
Day to day I’m in TypeScript, C#/.NET and F#, with Python for anything data-shaped. German is my first language, I work in English, and I speak Russian.
Experience
Work history, roles, and key accomplishments
• Browser-based tools for working with IFC models, so teams can interrogate BIM data without a desktop CAD licence.
• F# plugins for Revit and connectors to Autodesk Platform Services, moving data between design tools and the web.
• AI features built on the Cloudflare stack, from prototype to production.
• Utility-sector work delivered under a formal change-request process.
• Co-founded the company and led engineering for 13 years.
• Designed sitelife and wrote most of its core: a SaaS platform for construction site management, still in daily use on site.
• Built the b.i.m.m Tools suite on the Revit API to automate repetitive modelling work.
• Led teams of up to eight developers on AWS and Autodesk platforms.
