Maj Marušič

I'm developing an integrative, embodied, meaning-centred and transpersonal framework for physical illness through PhD research at Liverpool John Moores University in partnership with Alef Trust. My work examines psycho-emotional and physiological pathways of healing-related change, including symptom experience, wellbeing and people’s relationship to illness.

I've conducted systematic-review research on meditation interventions in prison populations, supported an umbrella review on spirituality and mental health, and coordinated embodied-art research involving movement-sensor data. I also founded The Wholing Institute for Conscious Healing to bring researchers together around empirical investigation of conscious mind–body and energy-healing approaches to physical illness.
