Mahmoud Dualeh

Working in the audit department, I gained skills and practical experience in audit sampling, audit software, and gathering evidence for engagements through inspection, enquiry, and other audit procedures. I also developed soft skills such as meeting deadlines, communicating with managers and partners, and fostering a culture of active participation and professional relations.

As an Accountant, I produced financial statements for four financial years, which were audited and received clean, unmodified opinions. I was involved in an ambitious plan to build a self-contained township in Tanzania, including townhouses, villas, apartment buildings, and a shopping mall.

As Project Manager, I led a maize-farming project, managing the budget and ensuring timely harvest and sales of produce. The project was successful, with the produce selling out at market during the first season.

Appointed as Company Secretary, I ensured tax compliance and gained various certifications related to tax adherence measures. I also collaborated with the CEO to secure Letters of Credit for cashew-processing trading endeavors, successfully obtaining a tax clearance certificate.

I shadowed the company's accountant, performing data entry and liaising to ensure segregation of duties. I received training in computerized accounting packages, including Tally and other ERP systems, and inputted data for various areas of financial statements.

Received the advanced diploma in accounting and business from the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants. Passed several papers first-time and learned a lot about financial accounting, management accounting, law, performance management, audit and assurance, financial management and more. The advanced diploma is equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, at RQF Level 6.

Received a diploma in accounting and business after passing my first four papers, in ACCA, and the foundations in professionalism module. This diploma is equivalent to one year in university.

Grade: A- average, GPA 3.7

Activities and societies: Acted in several plays including ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘A Comedy of Errors’, and ‘Annie’. Played various sports such as football, tennis, basketball, volleyball, and field sports like shotput.

Awarded a secondary school diploma upon graduation in 2007, achieving an A- average with a GPA around 3.7. Received multiple accolades including the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence and the Citizenship Award.
