Mahfuz Ahmed Shimul

I’m a CSE student and researcher with a strong foundation in machine learning, SDN-based network security, and software quality assurance. My work centers on building rigorous, testable solutions and translating research insights into practical, scalable outcomes.

I was awarded Best Paper at CIIR 2025 (Springer) for a project on improving diagnosis and treatment planning for heart diseases using VR integrated with explainable AI, where I served as co-author & presenter. I’m also working on my thesis—SDN based DDoS attack detection and mitigation using an ML approach.

Beyond research, I’ve gained hands-on experience through roles in technical support and technical sales, strengthening my troubleshooting mindset, communication with non-technical stakeholders, and ability to deliver consistently under real-world constraints. I’m now seeking an internship to apply rigorous analytical skills to production-quality codebases and scalable technical solutions.
