I am Lucia Zandile Magcaba, an experienced engineer with a Bachelor of Engineering Technology (Honors) in Electrical Power Engineering from Durban University of Technology, South Africa. Throughout my career, I have gained extensive experience in the field of engineering, specifically in the areas of protection, SCADA, and automation.
During my time at Eskom, I served as a Protection Technician, where I was responsible for planned and breakdown maintenance on all protection equipment and relays. I conducted fault investigations and analysis, providing support to relevant stakeholders. Additionally, I fulfilled standby duties and completed all relevant safety training.
Later, I took on the role of Senior Technician in SCADA and Automation at Eskom. In this position, I was responsible for the maintenance of SCADA and Telecontrol equipment, conducting fault investigations and analysis. I also fulfilled standby duties and had the opportunity to train junior staff members.
