At AM Testing, I design components for static and dynamic test rigs for mechanical components used in aerospace transmissions. I use static FEM analysis and material fatigue evaluations to inform final component sizing and CAD design.
As Co-Founder & Technical Director at Progetto Icarus, I directed structural and aerodynamic design of a 20-metre wingspan paper aircraft, culminating in a Guinness World Record certified flight. I also sized and validated the primary structural spar through iterative testing and used a coupled structural-aerodynamic model to capture aeroelastic deformation under flight loads.
For my MSc thesis at the University of Pisa, I developed a MATLAB algorithm to estimate external loads on carbon fiber plate components from strain measurements. I used FEM numerical data and validated the algorithm on experimental data, achieving an average normalized error below 5%.
