Lingfei Xu
@lingfeixu
Immigration attorney specializing in family-based and employment-based visas, asylum, and complex USCIS cases.
What I'm looking for
I’m a U.S.-based immigration attorney with extensive practice in family-based and employment-based immigration matters. Since 11/2013, I’ve guided clients through adjustment of status, consular processing, and nonimmigrant and immigrant visa applications.
I’m highly skilled in drafting and reviewing immigration forms, supporting documentation, affidavits, and legal submissions, with strategic preparation and detailed case analysis. I’m deeply familiar with USCIS procedures, adjudication standards, interview protocols, and how officers reason during case review and examinations.
I also focus heavily on asylum work: I’ve successfully prepared clients for and attended over 100 asylum interviews before USCIS, and I’ve handled affirmative asylum applications, interview packages, and immigration court appearances. My process includes detailed client interview preparation sessions, including mock interviews and testimony review, plus follow-up filings such as employment authorization applications and related immigration benefits applications.
Beyond immigration, I’ve independently handled matrimonial cases, including uncontested divorce matters with or without children, and drafted settlement stipulations and pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements. Earlier in my career, I worked as a legal assistant in Hong Kong and as a legal advisor and project manager in Guangzhou, advising multinational manufacturers on foreign direct investment, corporate law, negotiations, incorporation, and compliance.
