Lily G
@lilyg
Textiles designer focusing on sustainable print, natural dyes, biomaterials and documentary-informed practice.
What I'm looking for
I am a textiles designer with a First Class BA (Hons) from Central Saint Martins, specialising in sustainable and inventive print designs using only natural colour. My practice combines experimental creativity with traditional technical methods to develop natural-dye prints and biomaterial samples.
My documentary photography and editing skills inform my research and elevate my design process, driving thoughtful concept development and visual storytelling across collections and exhibitions. I have presented talks on biomaterials and natural dye techniques to students and community groups.
I have professional experience across fashion weeks, gallery invigilation and event roles, plus freelance storytelling and social media work, which developed my communication, production and installation skills. I have exhibited work at London and Copenhagen fashion events, degree shows and galleries.
Technically, I work with analogue and camera-less photography, natural dye recipes, screen-print pastes, hand and machine knitting, weaving, industrial sewing, CLO 3D and Adobe Creative Suite. I am motivated by circular design, bio-material research and creating hypoallergenic, nature-led textile solutions.
