Leyla Karimova

I’m a dedicated University and Career Counselor with expertise in university admissions, career guidance, and student development within international school settings. I provide individualized academic advising, career exploration sessions, and hands-on support with applications to global universities.

In my role, I guide students through university selection and academic planning—helping them choose suitable subjects for the IB Diploma Programme. I support the full application journey, including UCAS and Common App, and coach personal statements, essays, portfolios, and interview preparation.

I also write detailed, student-centered reference letters that highlight academic and personal strengths. Alongside workshops, university visits, and information sessions for students and parents, I collaborate with parents, teachers, and school leadership to support holistic student development.

Before counseling full-time, I taught French (IB PYP & MYP) by planning lessons, assessing progress, and mentoring students through Personal Projects and CAS activities. I hold a Master’s in French Linguistics and earlier degrees in Phylology and Language Teaching, with strong language credentials (IELTS 7.5, DALF C1) and tools like Microsoft Office and SmartCAT.
