Leila User

I’m a multidisciplinary visual artist, photographer, editor, and filmmaker, grounded in film and fine arts. I translate abstract concepts into raw sensory experiences—at the intersection of photography, post-production editing, and experimental filmmaking.

My work is unified by a deep focus on color theory, natural lighting, and the emotional weight of fine art. Whether I’m capturing the geometry of architecture or directing an exploratory experimental documentary, I use perspective, mixed-media collage, and immersive soundscapes to explore internal mindscapes, psychological states, and abstract dreams.

Since October 2020, I’ve run an independent creative practice where I develop and execute self-directed exploratory short films from script to final render. I build immersive, non-linear collage edits and atmospheric soundscapes to simulate intricate psychological experiences, while also growing a portfolio in bold, fine-art-informed color and emotional composition.

I also bring collaboration and curation to my practice—co-teaching English through visual storytelling, organizing winter camps that combine creativity with structure, and serving as a gallery curator handling spatial preparation and exhibition readiness. Through targeted social media strategy and campaign content, I’ve learned how to sharpen visual messaging alongside my artistic process.
