Layla Ghaffari
@laylaghaffari
I design intelligence systems with governance frameworks for reliable AI and biotech.
What I'm looking for
I’m an Intelligence Systems Designer and Systems Architect focused on identifying governing structures in complex, underdefined environments, then designing frameworks that make system behavior reliable, scalable, and reproducible. Across artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and education, I turn ambiguous or non-operational domains into structured, functioning systems using first-principles reasoning and experimental design.
In my current role, I directed conceptual architecture and technical strategy for AI cognition systems—defining foundational frameworks for reasoning, memory, authority, orchestration, and human–AI interaction. I also developed governed AI decision-making and system-level specifications that integrate AI, cognitive science, and systems architecture into structured intelligence frameworks.
Earlier, I worked as an Associate Scientist diagnosing failure modes in biological systems and redesigning them for scalability. I engineered an end-to-end recombinant protein production platform, optimizing serum-free expression and improving downstream purification workflows, while establishing internal experimental infrastructure to support scalable biologics production.
I also built compliance and documentation systems for regulated laboratory operations, standardizing technical documentation into audit-ready workflows within six months. I bring that same rigor to experimental design, protocol creation, and validation/quality control practices—so teams can reliably execute, measure outcomes, and reproduce results.
