What I'm looking for

I’m looking for a permanent, full-time contracting/ procurement role where I can manage RFQs, award documentation, and FAR compliance—while strengthening competitive sourcing, GPC program controls, and mission-ready procurement support for stakeholders.

I currently work as a Contract Specialist with the Bureau of Prisons (federal job) at USP Thomson, where I execute and administer contracts for supplies, services, and construction support. During my first year as a non-warranted contracting officer, my work centered on building and modifying contracts/orders to meet institutional needs.

I prepare RFQ solicitations and post them through the Government-wide point of entry at SAM.gov, then manage the evaluation process by preparing Bid Abstracts and analyzing price quotes to determine the lowest price technically acceptable. I support fair and reasonable pricing decisions, verify award documentation (including the standard form 1449), and promote competition using FAR-based requirements and prioritized use of mandatory sources.

Alongside contracting, I serve as the Alternate Agency Program Coordinator for the Government Purchase Card (GPC) program at USP Thomson. I oversee packet reviews and memos before submission, run eligibility checks, complete priority source checklists, identify evidence of split purchases, and audit training records to ensure documentation and compliance are maintained.

Previously, I supported the Facilities Department as a Facilities Assistant, handling administrative, clerical, budgetary, and procurement functions—running T&A through WEB TA, administering the TMS system, reconciling expenditures across cost centers in FMIS/UFMS, and coordinating procurement actions with stakeholders. Earlier roles included Time and Leave Clerk duties (posting and balancing hours, leave/pay documentation, and payroll issue resolution) and military leadership experience as a Military Police/Medic in the Illinois Army National Guard, reinforcing my commitment to readiness, accountability, and clear communication.
