@kwelekamwanza
I'm a researcher, lecturer & environmentalist with expertise in climate change, conservation, sustainable development, farming, geography & education.
What I'm looking for
I have participated, led and contributed to research with the University of Zambia, IITA, INESOR, FSNET, ZEMA, and the University of Manchester on climate resilience, indigenous knowledge farming systems (crop & livestock), pesticide management, and maternal and child health systems.
My work centres on co-producing knowledge with smallholder farmers through focus groups, social learning laboratories, household surveys, data entry and cleaning, qualitative thematic analysis, and quantitative analysis. At IITA, I support farmer-led legume intercropping, community seed systems, and traditional knowledge practices that strengthen food security, soil fertility, and climate resilience in Eastern Zambia.
I've also taught natural resource management, geography, climate change and development, ecology, environmental impact assessment, and mathematics. I have published research articles on climate change adaptation, livestock, crops, pesticides, and indigenous and local knowledge in indexed journals such as Frontiers (Sustainable Food System) and PLOS Climate, with over 20 citations.
