Kristy Williamson

Responsible for educating 530 students in grades K-5 in reading, literacy development, and digital learning. Manages the collection development of over 10,000 print books and educates students on digital resources, while also creating and delivering educational staff development for teachers.

Achieved among the highest reading, math, and science scores in the district on NC End-of-Grade tests. Established a reputation for differentiating instruction and fostering high growth in gifted students.

Students achieved some of the highest scores and showed the highest growth in the district on the NC Sixth Grade Math End-of-Grade Test. Formed strong relationships with students, which was well-known among colleagues and administration.

During years of teaching fourth grade, students consistently achieved the highest or second-highest scores in the district in math, reading, and writing on the NC End-of-Grade tests. Focused on comprehensive academic development across core subjects.

Introduced many innovations to the school, including student use of digital technology, learning stations, and differentiated instruction for students. Contributed to modernizing teaching methodologies within the district.

Recognized as a finalist for first-year teacher of the year and an NC Governor’s Model Technology Classroom Teacher. Earned National Board Certification in Early Childhood Education, demonstrating commitment to professional excellence.
