Judah Akintola

I’m a freelance proofreader and writing assistant based in Lagos, Nigeria, working remotely since 2023. I proofread and copy-edit academic assignments across multiple disciplines, correcting grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, and citation formatting with care for accuracy and consistency.

I line-edit essays and reports to strengthen sentence-level clarity, flow, and register—without altering the author’s intended voice. Using Microsoft Word track changes and inline comments, I communicate suggested edits clearly and deliver polished work within agreed deadlines, even when managing several concurrent projects.

I’m currently pursuing a B.A. in English Language and Literary Studies (in progress), where I’m building deeper expertise in linguistics and stylistics at the sentence and discourse level. My training in close reading and textual analysis helps me spot ambiguity, structural weaknesses, and inconsistency before they reach submission.

I also support research and fact-checking through source evaluation, cross-referencing, and note synthesis. With tools like Grammarly, Hemingway Editor, ProWritingAid, and LanguageTool—and style guidance for APA, MLA, Chicago, and Harvard—I format and polish documents to briefs using track changes, comments, styles, and Canva-ready layouts.
