JOSEPH MBUGUA

I’m a Mechanical Engineering graduate with practical experience supporting preventive and corrective maintenance, industrial energy practices, and PLC-controlled automation. I focus on technical problem-solving, clear engineering documentation, and ensuring equipment runs reliably and safely.

During my industrial attachments, I assisted in maintaining production equipment, supported boiler and steam generation operations, and helped improve plant reliability through equipment inspections. I also followed Occupational Safety and Health procedures during maintenance activities.

In another attachment, I supported mechanical system maintenance and inspection, participated in fabrication and sheet metal work using engineering drawings, and contributed to CAD-based design modifications. I also gained hands-on experience with fault diagnosis on automotive systems while maintaining workplace safety standards.

For my final year project, I designed and developed an Arduino-based automated luggage locker using GSM module communication, electromagnetic locks, relay modules, and sensor-based occupancy control. I’m now also working as a freelance/remote data annotation specialist, where I validate technical datasets for accuracy and consistency for AI model training.
