Jill Scherer
@jillscherer
Grants Manager and research analyst driving accurate, impact-focused funding proposals and $200M+ reporting.
What I'm looking for
I’m a Grants Manager at Social Finance, coordinating grant applications with project and finance teams and ensuring “excellence and accuracy” in every submission. I oversee reporting for foundation grant awards totaling $200M+ since 2011, monitoring deadlines and partnering across the organization to deliver high-quality narrative and financial reports to funders.
Before Social Finance, I worked as a Senior Research Analyst at the Milken Institute, where I co-authored community and international development finance reports and supported Financial Innovations Labs through literature reviews, telephone interviews, and ongoing trend tracking. I also collected and analyzed data to inform presentations and the Milken Institute Global Conference, and I contributed to project proposals.
Earlier in my career, I strengthened my economic and data analysis foundation through roles at Charles River Associates and Thomson Financial—supporting finance-related litigation work like damage calculations, valuations, regression analysis, and event studies, and helping with data-cleansing initiatives and database maintenance for Thomson’s research products. My publications reflect this mix of research rigor and practical funding insight.
