Jay Roodselaar
@jayroodselaar
Life sciences project and scientific operations manager delivering regulated research and stakeholder-ready outcomes.
What I'm looking for
I’m a life sciences professional with a PhD from the University of Oxford and 9+ years of experience managing complex research projects across neuroimmunology, immunology, and oncology. I focus on bringing clarity to end-to-end project lifecycles—milestones, budgets, risks, and delivery—so scientific outputs land on time and within scope.
In my roles, I’ve led cross-functional teams, coordinated international collaborations, and partnered closely with pharmaceutical stakeholders. I’m comfortable presenting progress to senior leadership and stakeholders, translating technical work into decision-ready updates while maintaining documentation quality.
At Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, I led 3+ concurrent projects and managed collaborations with 5 international research institutions and pharmaceutical partners. I also developed and optimized histology, gene expression, and spatial transcriptomics workflows to improve reproducibility, while supervising and mentoring ~4 junior researchers and students.
Most recently, as a Healthcare Manager, I coordinated end-to-end patient pathway management and ensured regulatory compliance across patient communication. I’m also a Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt and Project Manager (PMI/Scrum), and I bring a process-improvement mindset to regulated biomedical environments and everyday execution.
